The Problem
Local gyms struggled with expensive management software that was designed for large chains. Monthly subscription costs for commercial solutions ate into already tight margins.
Gym owners tracked memberships in spreadsheets, had no visibility into KPIs like retention and churn, and couldn't generate the reports they needed for business decisions.
The available affordable tools were either too basic (just a member list) or too complex (enterprise features they'd never use), leaving a gap for a right-sized solution.
The Solution
I designed Gym Manager as a lean, deployable platform that gives small gyms enterprise-level features at a fraction of the cost. The Next.js frontend provides a responsive admin interface that works on any device.
The KPI dashboard calculates and visualizes key metrics: member retention, churn rate, revenue trends, and attendance patterns. Automated alerts notify owners when metrics cross configurable thresholds.
Built on PostgreSQL for reliable data storage and deployed on Vercel for minimal hosting costs, the entire platform can be set up for a new gym in under 2 hours.
